Make your first quilt from start to finish in the 5 week course! In this class you will learn rotary cutting, strip piecing techniques, hand quilting, and binding. The finished piece will make a perfect throw size quilt and/or child's quilt.
If you own a sewing machine, please bring it to class. We have a limited number of machines available to rent for an additional $10 each session. Please let us know when register for the class if you need to rent one.
Materials Needed:
1/2 yard of 5 coordinating cotton fabrics for blocks and binding
1 yard of cotton fabric for border on front (should coordinate with the block fabric)
3 yards cotton batting (I suggest low loft)
3 yards cotton for back of quilt

A Very Cordes Christmas
I couldn't find my camera during our Christmas party this year, so these were taken with my phone. I only took two pictures but they are the most important: The Baby Jebus Birthing and The Christmas Ham!
Tis the Season to Shop Local Fa la la la la

Craft Show Explosion!
The past couple of months I have been hidden away in my studio, listening to podcast after podcast, and furiously sewing my rump off. The fruits of these labors will finally see the light of day this coming weekend.
First up, the Small Works Show at Gallery Soleil this Thursday night from 5pm - 10pm. This is the new gallery in the old Bare Hands space. It will strange to be there and not see Wendy Jarvis' sweet self running around, but I'm glad that someone has picked up the reigns and used this space to support local art.
I will also be there and the 23rd for that procrastinators (like me) that need some last minute gifts. So please come out to this and check out the new space and buy some local goods for your loved ones (or yourself).
Next up on the agenda is the
This is a great event that takes place mostly in Avondale on 41st Street and at Bottletree Cafe but there are also some artists in Forest Park at Naked Art Gallery. The event starts Friday night and goes all day Saturday and Sunday. I will be at the Beloved Community Church on 41st Street. The Avondale Brewing Company will also be open and giving tours of the new brewery every hour. There will be a lot of artists at this so you can knock out most, if not all, of your holiday shopping! Plus you can hang out at the brewery and get your drink on. Sounds good to me!

Heart of Dixie
Hot off the presses! Just finished a whole mess of Alabama shaped pillows. Mainly in houndstooth, but I also have a few in blue and orange :)
If you're interested, get your orders in now folks! Just in time for the holidays. The larger pillows are $20 and the smaller ones are $10. Post a comment or send me a private message if you're interested.
But wait! There's more. I've also made a handful of fun bright colored ones too.

Back In Action
Watch out! After a few months blurry laziness and general worthlessness, I am back at my machine.
